Cockails_101906_008.nef

Do you know how to make a Long Island Iced Tea, a Cosmo, a Kamikaze, or even a Cotton Candy? I’ve got those recipes plus over 100 more all in this easily downloadable e-book.

I teach you tricks on memorizing these recipes so that you never have to refer to your “Bar Bible.”

I have over 13 years behind the bar in my background. I have tended bar in 2 countries and 5 states. I have done it all: Biker bars, Hotel lounges, Strip Clubs, Sports bars, Neighborhood bar and grills, Karaoke bars, Night clubs, Pool Halls, and Country Clubs just to name a few.

I’ve gone to Bartending School. Heck, I’ve even taught at one. I couldn’t stand charging people $300.00 and up for information I was willing to teach for next to nothing.

I think this officially makes “So Ya Wanna Be A Bartender” the best bargain on the internet. It’s only a fraction of what anything else out there might cost.

Here are just a few more things you’ll discover inside;

  • How to fake drinks you’ve never even heard of,  and have everyone proclaim your concoction as “The best they ever had.”
  • A full list of all of the bar essentials you would ever need.
  • How to match your glassware with your drinks.
  • How to work your ice for even stronger tasting drinks.

And much much more…

Beer Brewing : Join A Home Brew Club

Making your own alcoholic drinks can be fun and challenging at the same time, and will not take up a lot of time or space. Usually one burner on your stove will be enough space, except for storage, and in about two hours, up to five gallons of home brew can be in the keg or ready for bottling.

Are you interested in home brewing? Maybe you have already followed up that interest and have already brewed some alcoholic beverages at your own home. Either way, you may want to consider joining a home brew club. There will more than likely be a home brew club near you and, if you live in a well populated area, you may even have specialist ones for beer, wine or spirit drinks.

Many times people follow directions for so long they tend to ignore the possibility there are other ways of doing things. As people become more experienced in home brewing, they may try different methods or different ingredients and often willingly share these findings with other members of their home brew club. The sharing of information and tips is just half of the home brew club equation though, the other half being the sharing amongst members of each others finished products.

By joining a home brew club, you can get many new ideas and can ask questions of your own, finding out if a technique will work before you try it. What better way to learn than by educating yourself based on the the successes and failures of those who were not long ago in the same position that you are now?.

Many members of a home brew club are more than willing to share their knowledge and experience, despite the intense competition of brewing the best. Whether beer, wine or straight alcohol, sharing tips with new brewers are what some of the more experienced brewers do best.

A few times a year, you will probably find that regional competitions get organized, at which home brewers from a particular area have their best work judged. Those planning to enter any brewing contest must plan ahead, as it takes about four weeks for beer to properly ferment in the refrigerator before it is ready to drink.

Brewing Your Own Beer : Bigger May Be Better

Typically, people make small home brews, and so if you are planning on making a large home brew, then there are several pointers that you are absolutely going to want to take into consideration.

Most people only plan on making a large home brew if they are having a lot of people over or if they are planning to store most of the brew away so that they can use it in the future, and both of these reasons are acceptable. Should these circumstances not apply to you then you are probably better off sticking with smaller, more frequent, brews as you may end up with an unacceptable amount of wastage.

The first thing that you are going to want to think about when you are planning on making a large home brew is the fact that it is going to take a lot more time and effort. Therefore, make sure that you have the basic processed down to an art before making a large brew to avoid wasting your time and efforts.

Also, before making a start on making a large home brew, think carefully about whether you really have the space available to do it properly. As with a small home brew, a large home brew can be made in a standard sized kitchen. The difference with a making a large home brew is that you may have to temporarily clear out of the way any none essential items.

Assess the amount of space that you have available on the countertops, in the sink and in the fridge. Spend a few minutes maximizing the space available for your large home brew as moving things out of the way whilst you are in the process of brewing could cause you to lose your concentration and make a mistake.

You basically have 2 options should you unfortunately not have the required amount of space available to you; either you should stick to making smaller brews so that you have more free space to work with, or find a friend or family members home during those one or two times that you need to make an especially large brew.

In terms of the actual brewing process, it is exactly the same to make a large brew as it is to make a small one. The only thing to keep in mind is to ensure that all ingredients are increased in equal measures.

4 Types Of Beer That Everyone Should Try

The word “beer” is often used as a generic noun to describe a cold refreshing beverage. However, for those with more than a passing interest in the drink, a single word is far from sufficient to describe it.

When it comes to types of beer, there are many, many options to choose from. The amount of differing characteristics that can be found is surprising, with most people having a favorite type even if they are not aware of it. From stout to cider, and porter to pilsner, there really is something for everyone.

Most beers, particularly those sold commercially, are processed using similar methods. However, the names given to different styles of beer generally reflect individual characteristics of the product, such as where it originated. Taste, appearance and aroma are just some of the qualities that make different beers unique.

Below are some of the most popular types of beer available…

Lager: Some of the world’s most popular beer brands are lagers. Incorporated within this type of beer are American styles such as double pilsner, all-malt and ‘light’ beers. Germany and the Czech Republic are seen as the international leaders in the production of them.

Ale: American amber, brown ale, porter, strong, sour and wild ales are also common American beers. Also falling under the category of “Ales” are Chile Beer, Pumpkin Ale, Belgian and French ales, English, German, Irish, Finnish, Scottish and Russian ales.

Cider: While not an official beer, cider is still enjoyed by many beer drinkers. Favorites include standard cider, New England cider and many specialty ciders.

Hybrids: This term refers to experimental brewing methods and ingredients. Sub-categories include smoked, spiced, fruit and vegetable beer.

You’re missing out if you haven’t tried at least the types of beer listed above. Remember that variety is the spice of the life; you’re severely limiting yourself by always being loyal to one brand. There is a world of options available to you, so try something new next time you’re in a beer drinking mood.

What’s The Deal With Wine Glasses?

Wine glasses are very essential in the wine tasting experience. In order to properly taste the wine, you must have the correct wine glass. Wine glasses were designed the way they are shaped on purpose.

A red wine glass consists of the base, stem, and a large round bowl with a wide mouth. The shape of the bowl is used to enhance the wine bouquet, thus enhancing the flavor. The wide mouth allows you to sip the red wine so you can taste it at the front of your mouth where it is meant to be tasted.

Red wine glasses use the surface area of the large bowl to oxygenate and evaporate the wine allowing for a much bolder aroma. Red wine is known for its strong and bold taste. The large bowl is also used to grasp the glass by which helps keep red wine at the desired temperature, room temperature.

White wine glasses have the same structure as red wine glasses consisting of a base, stem and bowl. The major difference between the two is that the white wine glass bowl is much narrower and taller which helps to keep the delicate bouquet held together. Also, the white wine glass has a taller stem than the red wine glass which provides a place to hold the glass so as not to warm the wine because white wine should be served chilled.

The narrow mouth of the white wine glass also allows for the wine to be tossed back onto the palette, where it is designed to be tasted at. The area in which you taste your wine is imperative to the overall tasting experience.

Another type of wine that requires its own glass is Champagne. A flute is the type of glass used for champagne. Flute wine glasses have a very tall and narrow bowl, much more narrower than a white wine glass, and this helps to maintain the bubbles for a long time.

Wine glasses are very important on more than one level and are not just for holding your wine but for perfecting the taste of the wine as well. Wine should always be paired with its perfect wine glass in order to experience wine tasting to the fullest. Something else you can do with wine is to pair it with the perfect food.

White wine goes beautifully with all types of seafood. Red wine can be paired wonderfully with red meat and even chocolate! Experiment with wine to find your perfect combination, but just remember to use the right wine glasses!

Wine Goblets – A Little Piece of History at Your Dinner Table

You can get wine goblets in a variety of different sizes, shapes and made out of all kinds of different materials. They have been produced for hundreds of years and the older glasses from Europe which conform to the shape we see today with a stem dates back to the fifth teen-hundreds. Towards the end of the fifth teen-hundreds century saw wine being enjoyed from decorative glasses.

The oldest glasses from Great Britain had engraved stems. These were later replaced by plainer stems, and then by twisted stems. High quality crystal wine glasses were used in France in the late 1700s. Throughout the ages wine glasses made from all kinds of different materials from pewter to gold have been used.

If you are looking to buy some win glasses then be sure to get some good quality ones that will really add to the experience of drinking the wine that you have. By definition, wine goblets are larger than wine glasses and are able to hold a larger volume of liquid. The shape, sizing and design of the wine goblet will make a difference to the wine and your perception of it as you drink it.

There are no hard and fast boundaries for serving your wine. Whilst there are different glasses usually used for different types of wine, you can use your own ideas to decide what glasses you need and how to use them at your dinner parties. People will also use wine goblets for serving water with wine at meals.

In the early 19th century, wine glasses began to be produced in sets. By the 1950s, manufacturers began to make stemware a different size and shape for just about every type of wine. Part of the allure of wine is not just the taste and smell, but the presentation.

A true wine lover wants to see the “legs” of the wine as the wine is swirled in the wine goblet. The swirling also is the best way to display the “nose” of a fine wine. All things are considered when choosing just what glass would be perfect for the wine being served. A somewhat large glass is best used for wine at dinner.

Open topped, wide wine glasses that slightly curve in at the top are good for capturing the full smell of the wine. Use a smaller goblet for white-wine. Tall narrow glasses are used for serving sparkling wine.

Not everyone can afford a different set of goblets for each wine. Cabinet space can also be an issue. To simplify things, you might want to choose and goblets that are more all-purpose. The California Wine Institute has designed the perfect all-purpose wine glass that is about 5 inches tall and has a tulip-shaped bowl that can hole about eight ounces of wine: the perfect goblet for every wine

The Responsibilities Of A Professional Bartender

A bartender is somebody who serves beverages behind a licensed bar to paying customers. A bartender can also be called a barkeep or a barmaid. Bartenders are found in bars, pubs, taverns, nightclubs and other similar places.

Bartenders are professionals at serving drinks that contain alcohol in them, some examples are cocktails, shots, wine, beer, liqueur and coolers. But not only do they serve these drinks, they also serve a good amount of non alcoholic drinks such as soda, water and juices for those who choose not to drink, such as a designated driver.

Not only do bartenders have the responsibility of making and serving drinks, they are also responsible for the over cleanliness of the bar area. They must make sure they have enough clean shot glasses, wine glasses, mugs, and drink glasses at their disposal, so there is a light amount of dish washing that is involved.

In most of the bars that are around, the bartender will be expected to be dressed very neatly, similar to waiters and waitresses at restaurants. This will contribute to the overall appearance of the bar.

A professional bartender should have in their head hundreds of recipes for drinks and shots. The quicker that you can serve the customer the more likely you are to get a good tip. It is not very professional to go over and look at a recipe book while the customer is waiting on his or her drink, especially if you are working at a busy night club.

All bartenders should be friendly and enjoy having contact and communication with customers. Good bartenders have a way of attracting regular customers. Good bartenders like this will remember the favored drink of regular customers; have drink recommendations on hand or recommendations for other bars, as well as several other unofficial duties.

In the United States, mostly all bartenders are payed minimum wage. So their main source of income will be coming from tips, which is a custom in almost every country. Bartenders must also be strict when it comes to checking if that person is old enough to drink alcohol or not.

So there is much more to being a bartender than just serving alcohol as you can see. The most important thing you must do well is your people skills since the majority of bartenders work for tips. The better people skills you have the more money you will see coming in.

Before you try and get into the great world of bartending you need to know the facts, for that reason the author has written an excellent report that goes over bartending tips for beginners and how to become a bartender.
